reading #2

Questions Do you agree or disagree with what the article defined as authentic/authenticity? Why or why not? What do you think the author means by " The authenticity of a thing is the essence of all that is transmissable from its beginning ranging from its substantive duration to its testimony to the history which it has experience. Do you agree/disagree with this and why? Do you agree with the authors view of reproduction detaching the reproduced object from the domain of tradition? How are film reproductions/remakes different from his definition of replications?

I wanted only a few of my layers to move. This is why I chose the cockroach on Miley Cyrus's body. I wanted to have movement without making everyones eyes cross at the amount of moving going on. Overall it was fun. I was able to use puppet warp in an easier way on after effects and I hope to use it again in future projects. I wanted to retain the vintage look of my tryptic without making it look too futuristic, which really served to keep the whole steam punk time travel theme.

Basic Animation Aesthetics Questions

1.) David O'reilly concentrates his paper on explaining the need for one to "think outside the box while using software "in ways it wasn't built to be used." Do you agree or disagree with his conclusion? If so, why?

2.)Does O'reilly's interpretation of what "style" is differ from your own interpretation of what you consider to be style? Do you agree with what he considers to be style and what he considers to be "surface style"?

Girls Running, Walberswick Peak GIF creation :D

I started off thinking that I would be able to get the hang of this quite quickly. That wasnt the case. There are still some key points that I will have to go back and fix. The painting is entitled "Girls Running." I was able to make them move a bit, and before submitting I hope to get them to run towards the viewer. Considering the caption attached to the painting, the girls were originally holding hands (their shadows still are). Id like to have the girls holding hands as well. I'd like to give the painting life by having the girls running, just like the title suggests while also showing it as it was intended to be seen.

So I know its not perfect or anything but I'm just glad that I got it to do something. Ive never used Photoshop and Ive only used mac computers for scanning, so it was really difficult this first time around. Still, Ive been watching videos on LYNDA so Ive been learning some stuff XD. I hope to be able to make for changes before I officially submit it, and Ive still got a few questions but now Im not completely overwhelmed by the whole thing, so that's definitely progress :D

I used puppet warp, lasso, and the select key extensively. Im still confused on which timeline would have been best to use, so I plan on going back and trying that out more. This landscape painting has a lot of potential considering the story behind it.  btw, I wanted to have the girl leaning over falling out, Im going to have to figure that out as well. I did experieince trouble when I would lasso and select something and then when I tried to see it n motion all I would see was a checkered background. I still dont know what thats about.
